Georgina –

“Through my painting I strive to glorify God.  My subject matter is religious baroque for today’s time. I greatly admire the drama and deep mysticism of baroque art.  Mediums used include oil on canvas or oil on wood.”

Biography

Georgina Villiada is of Spanish descent and was raised with deep held Roman Catholic ideals and compassion for humanity.  Throughout her life, she has always been fascinated by religious art and Spanish history and literature.  Naturally she was drawn to religious Spanish baroque paintings.  Her interests were further cultivated by her studies in fine arts, leading to an Associate Degree in Art and her studies in Spanish history and literature, leading to her Bachelors Degree in Spanish Literature, Culture, and Civilization with a Summa Cum Laude.

In addition to completing her degrees, Georgina studied nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse.  Her work in nursing brought forth her compassion and called on her sense of humanity as she helped patients through many of life’s most poignant events.  Since her retirement from nursing, Georgina continues to explore art in various mediums through her studies at the University of Texas San Antonio.
